This medium-sized, slender palm from the rainforests of western Java forms small groups of delicate trunks. Its loose crowns consist of slightly drooping, light green leaves with broad leaflets. The rather large, bright red fruits are a particularly ornamental feature. The genus Nenga is closely related to Areca and should also be easily cultivated indoors.
