A medium-sized cycas native to the tropical forests of central Vietnam, it forms either an underground or a short above-ground stem. Its up to 15 flat or slightly keeled leaves are strikingly shiny and sit on long stalks. The leaflets can reach up to 42 cm in length and 2 cm in width and often have curled edges. It is extremely rare in cultivation outside of Vietnam.
