This beautiful palm with bushy leaves grows in northeastern Australia, where it is also called the black palm due to its dark wood. It is fast-growing, suitable for subtropical and tropical regions, and certainly deserves some attention. However, it is rarely cultivated and almost never available commercially. Even as a young plant, it is very attractive with the silvery undersides of its fishtail-like leaves.
