This breathtakingly beautiful palm from New Guinea and the Solomon Islands has a slender, tall, solitary trunk, a smooth, long crownshaft, and a dense crown of elegantly curved, finely pinnate, and keeled leaves. It is an ideal ornamental plant for the tropics. The large seeds lose their viability extremely quickly and must be transported in a consistently moist environment. When fresh, they germinate easily, and growth is incredibly rapid.
